Physicians appointed to and assigned to the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital will function as independent licensed practitioners. The candidate will (1) hold a full and unrestricted license in any state; (2) have completed a three-year residency in good standing, and (3) have passed or be eligible to take the certifying examination in a core specialty. Preference will also be given to those with experience or additional training.
Major duties, but not limited to:
- Responsible for direct provision of peri-operative anesthetic care and ensuring the facility and program are meeting and exceeding compliance standards.
- Provides peri-operative care including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative anesthetic, administration and monitoring of post-anesthesia care in compliance with national accreditation standards. The Anesthesiologist will provide expert consultation and guidance to CRNA, nursing, and other medical staff in the administration of the anesthesia programs.
- The incumbent will perform the administrative components of patient care management such as completion of progress notes, OP reports, and discharge summaries.
- The incumbent will also provide feedback and patient education to the patients and their families and will demonstrate excellence in all facets of patient care and meets or exceeds compliance standards.
- The physician should also be proficient and privileged in all aspects of Anesthesiology.

Work Schedule: Full time: Monday through Friday 7:00am-3:30pm; Part Time: Monday - Thursday 7am-3:30pm.
