This is an
OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until
March 31, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be
October 31, 2025 with subsequent cut-off date every month. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as needed basis until the position if filled.
The Vascular surgeon will be required to have the following unique competencies:
- Open and endovascular AAA surgical repair.
- Dialysis access procedures.
- Diagnostic and Interventional angiography including mesenteric and peripheral vascular.
- Lower extremity bypass.
- Open and endovascular carotid surgery.
- Supervision/teaching of surgical residents.
- Providing consultation in an outpatient clinic setting and on inpatient wards.
- Be responsible for initial evaluation and overall workups, history and physicals, and admission of vascular surgery patients as needed.
- Participation in committees.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Surgery or Chief of Staff.

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for
the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm however, subject to change, depending on the needs of the service/medical center. On-call responsibilities as required.
Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).
