Duties:
- Provide diagnosis and treatment of adult patients presenting with dermatological diseases.
- Perform dermatological procedures such as biopsies, skin excisions, cryotherapy, photodynamic therapy, and intralesional injections.
- Provide evidence-based, comprehensive care in an outpatient clinical setting and provide consultation services in an inpatient setting or emergent need.
- Provide telephone and e-consult consultations.
- Perform a physical examination, review patient's medical data and order routine diagnostic imaging studies and labs when indicated.
- Document observation, assessments, and changes in patient's condition; collaborating with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes.
- Provide telehealth care via different modalities.
- Work collaboratively with other specialties.
- Follow VA directives and policies and KCVA Medical Staff Bylaws.
- Provide direct clinical supervision of advance practice nurses, physician assistants, clinical trainees, and other staff as appropriate.
- Actively involved in the education of other providers, staff, residents, and medical students.
- Establish professional working relationships with other clinical service providers within the medical center and outlying clinics.
- This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments, as this is a 24/7 hospital and is an essential function of the position. Some positions require rotation of tours or indefinite work on non-administrative tours as established by the immediate supervisor or designee.
