Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Major Duties/Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Performing gross and microscopic examination of surgical and cytological cases and providing reports in a timely manner.
- Interpretation/sign-out of surgical pathology specimens within guidelines for turnaround time and synoptic cancer reporting.
- Performing intraoperative frozen section and gross interpretations as needed.
- Performing post-mortem examinations and ensuring that the provisional and final reports are completed in a timely fashion.
- Interpretation and sign-out of peripheral blood smears submitted for pathologist review as well as bone marrow biopsies.
- Review of hematology fluids with diagnostic interpretations as needed.
- Interpreting clinical laboratory data and communicating conclusions effectively with providers.
- Providing clinical pathology consultations to providers when appropriate.
- Taking call on a rotating schedule.
- Oversight and instruction of residents and medical students.
- Representing the laboratory at functions or committees such as multidisciplinary tumor boards, transfusion utilization review, and others.
- Participating in the review of quality-control data, results from proficiency testing, and other internal service data to meet regulatory requirements.
- Participating in quality improvement within the service and proactively supporting cost-effective use of resources in laboratory operations.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Subject to change based on the needs of the agency.
